Software Engineer SaaS Core Team, PHP

What We are Looking For

To scale and expand SonoSuite, we are looking for software engineers. They will be welcomed into a growing small team, so they can have a tremendous impact on the product and trajectory of the company.

In the next months, they will:

Help moving our current codebase from PHP5.6 to PHP7.x, and later PHP 8.x, and from ruby 2.4 to ruby 3.x

Maintain and update areas of the current monolith platform.

Refactor or extract monolith sections as new modules or services.

Build brand new services.

Make sure all these monolith legacy areas, modules, and independent services are happy members of an event-oriented distributed system.

Be part, after 8-10 weeks, of an engineering tech-support rotation (working hours only, as in “you build it, you run it”).

Be part of the rollout of a new outcome-oriented agile product development flow.

For that, they will need to:

Have a strong orientation towards impact and outcomes.

Actively collaborate with other members of your team.

Analyse, design, develop, test, document, and deploy, in a remote-effective way.

Take or support decisions balancing engineering business goals, fundamentals, and pure technology.

Communicate with partners and 3rd parties to manage and develop integrations with external systems.

Monitor applications and infrastructure, troubleshoot problems.

Be part of the continuous improvement process of the team.

You have:

Experience (3+ years) in PHP 5.6/7.x

Knowledge of SOLID design principles and design patterns in practice.

Experience with distributed version control and project tracking tools (Git, JIRA or equivalent).

Fluency in English is a must, Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.

Extra points for eagerness to learn about:

Product Development.

DDD and hexagonal architectures.

Building scalable event-oriented distributed architectures with PHP.

Ruby.

Modern client-side Javascript / front-end development.

Automated infrastructure management on AWS.

Infrastructure as code.

Passion for music is a big plus!
