General Ledger - Tarragona

Well known international FMCG company with subsidiary located in Tarragona area.

• Oversee general ledger accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close activities, as well as accounts payable transactions.


• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.


• Work with internal departments to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data.


• Partner with cross-functional teams across the UKI and Continental Europe regions to gather financial information and support audit requirements.


• Conduct audits (Group Audit and Statutory Audit) to verify the accuracy and integrity of financial data.


• Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory accounting standards in financial reporting.


• Align general ledger practices with budgeting and forecasting objectives.


• Input financial transactions such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis and prepare corresponding reports.


• Perform account analysis to validate journal entries and account balances.


• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and address any discrepancies promptly.


• Collect supporting documentation and maintain accurate financial records.


• Stay updated on regulatory changes and accounting best practices.


• Assist in designing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent working experience.


• At least 3-4 years experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.


• Proficient in accounting software (Microsoft D365 preferred) and Microsoft Excel.


• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations. With US GAAP significant experience.


• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.


• Certified Public Accountant or audit experience is a plus.


• Fluent level of English (proficient).
