The Senior Accountant (EMEA) role is a broad role and responsible for assisting in efficient and effective finance tasks and supporting general office administration.




The role of Senior Accountant has the following key responsibilities:


  • Accounting and Reporting o Manage monthly financial reporting and controls for EMEA's entities (Spain and Italy branch), including:

  • Completeness and accuracy of transactions in the Group accounting system

  • Accurate presentation of the company P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements ? Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations

  • Variance analysis

  • Monthly results review meetings with the Group head office

  • Drive the forecasting & budget process for the EMEA businesses

  • Maintain stewardship of EMEA's business assets

  • Manage Purchasing, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions




Financial process and controls


  • Assist in design and implementation of local policies and procedures consistent with the Group

  • Ensure compliance with Global policies and procedures

  • Work with cross functional teams to determine appropriate financial control points




Funding & Treasury


  • Monitor cash position and maintain flow forecasts

  • Assist in managing funding arrangements (such as intercompany loans and equity injections)

  • Maintain banking mandates in line with Group Treasury requirements




Tax & Legal


  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax obligations (income taxes, indirect taxes)o Support the Group in ensuring adequate Insurances are in place

  • Oversee performance of financial reporting obligations

  • Coordinate legal and financial fillings for each entity

  • Liaise with corporate secretary to maintain filing compliance of entities o Oversee the local audit process & support the global audit process where (if required)

  • Be aware of transfer pricing arrangements and coordinate preparation of yearly transfer price returns (if required)




Payroll and compensation


  • Support the payroll process through review and ensuring accuracy;

  • Liaise with an external payroll provider

  • Work with HR Team to define local incentives plan, implement and review incentives payouts

  • Act as the Travel and Expenses administrator to ensure compliance with Group and local policies




Projects/ Business Partnering


  • Manage financial aspects of projects including invoicing and collection as well as support the quotation process

  • Support senior executives and project managers to ensure that financial metrics of projects are at the forefront of their decision making

  • Liaise with Global HR on EMEA HR activities

  • Systems

  • Local lead for the Group's accounting system (SAP Business One) and expense management system (Concur)

Requisitos mínimos

  • Degree in Accounting & Finance required

  • Chartered Accountant or local equivalent

  • Very good command of English Experience & Knowledge

  • 5-10 Years + post qualification experience

  • Experience of 5-10 years in similar position/s with business partnering and exposure to international business across multiple European Union country members

  • Working with external auditors, tax consultants, bankers and lawyers

  • Commits & meets deadlines and priorities consistently - able to deliver under pressure

  • Proven ability to deliver results whilst multitasking a range of complex tasks/activities by leveraging cross functional relationships

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Aptitude for technology - Systems savvy
