Fundació Sant Joan de Déu opens a Pre-Award Manager position to join Sant Joan de Déu SOCIAL INNOVA program, linked to the European/International Pre-award Unit.



SJD SOCIAL INNOVA is a cross-cutting program that promotes and contributes to the generation of transformative social innovation projects in SJD's social and healthcare centres.


The program accompanies the centres from the identification of the idea or challenge, to the design and construction of competitive projects, establishing the impact narrative.


The program also provides support during the implementation of the awarded projects in tasks related to social innovation (participation and co-creation), measurement and impact management to promote social transformation.



The person we are looking for will be responsible of assisting project leaders working in the social area of Sant Joan de Déu Centres in securing competitive funds (mainly European or International) for research and innovation related activities that offer new evidence based solutions to the realities that they attend to on a daily basis. He/she will ensure that all project applications are delivered to a high standard and in compliance with funder regulations and internal policies. The final objective of this position is to maximize the value and impact of these projects to Sant Joan de Déu ecosystem in terms of research outputs, outcomes, dissemination and impact.



The main calls that will be worked with are those of the European Comission, such as: “EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI)”, “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme (CERV)”, “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)”, “Horizon Europe” and “Erasmus+”. However, other sources of national and international funding will also be explored, when applicable to the ideas/projects identified.



Main tasks and responsibilities:



1) Internal scouting: to be aware of the activity of the different social innovation stakeholders within Sant Joan de Déu ecosystem. Getting to know their ideas, their needs and their project portfolio.


2) External scouting: in-depth knowledge of appropriate funding framework for the interests and needs of the centres in social innovation (European, International, National, Regional), and to keep up to date. Identify and propose future trends in this field.


3) Project application: to promote SJD stakeholders participation in competitive calls suitable for the ideas identified and to give professional support for the preparation of the proposals:


  • Evaluation of the suitability of the project with the topic/call and evaluation criteria.

  • Design, conceptualization (design of the theory of change) and structure of the project and the consortium.

  • Elaboration of the project proposal, including design of the projects’ impact narrative

  • Conceptualization of the projects’ M&E procedures and indicators as well as impact evaluation.

  • Preparation of the budget.

  • Providing institutional information and other cross-cutting issues of the proposal.

  • Logistical and administrative support for the submission.

4) Networking and positioning activities: identification and follow-up of networks, actions and initiatives that may represent a strategic opportunity for both the Institution and the project leaders. Attendance at conferences, information sessions, partnering events and meetings of interest with funding agencies.


5) Capacity building and collaboration: organization of information seminars for project leaders. Organization of co-creation workshops to identify new and collaborative projects between different centres. Community management.


6) Implementation: keep up to date of the activities developed in the portfolio of awarded projects and use that information to build new synergies and project ideas.


7) Governance: participate in the internal commitees of SJD SOCIAL INNOVA program. Participate in the International Projects Office’s transversal activities.




Requisitos mínimos

Requirements:


  • University degree or PhD (highly valuable) preferably in Social Sciences and Humanities.

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar position (European Pre-award Office, Impact Office, Social Innovation, Social Experimentation, Living Lab) working with similar types of funding programmes.

  • Deep knowledge on methodological approaches in social sciences (qualitative and participatory approaches, social theory…)

  • Experience with theory of change conceptualization and impact narratives (planning impact pathways)

  • Knowledge in monitoring and evaluation design for social interventions

  • Meet the requirements detailed in section “Personal skills”.

  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish, Catalan and English.

  • Availability for occasional travel locally and abroad.


Personal skills:


The person we are looking for must be proactive, responsible and able to work accurately under the pressure of deadlines. He/she should be able to adapt ideas into valuable projects, be creative, flexible, empathic, and service-oriented. We search for a professional with good communication and teamwork skills.


He/she needs to have demonstrated ability in managing multiple sub-projects simultaneously. Be autonomous and responsible. Show strong organization and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks effectively and respect deadlines.


Given the complex and competitive landscape of funding opportunities, we need someone who is versatile and able to learn and adapt quickly, putting into practice new knowledge with flexibility and rigor.


The person must have competencies related to impact: establish impact narrative and theory of change, establish measures to maximize impact, among others.
