What will the role entail?

Your Tasks

    • Experience on Terraform is a plus

Your Profile

  • Experience: 4+ years as a Data Analyst / BI Developer / Data Engineer (m/f/d) ideally in ecommerce companies and experience building up Analytics Stacks from scratch.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excellent SQL knowledge – preferable practical experience with Google BigQuery or similar data warehouse / data lake systems or non-relational databases.

The i2CAT Foundation is looking for a Director of the Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) Research Group who, in addition, will lead the overall strategy of the organization in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The DAI research group conducts research and innovation activities in the areas of explainable and distributed AI, multimodal AI perception, and cognitive cloud. The group has a long track record of participation in EU R&D projects, Catalan and Spanish-funded research and innovation projects, and bilateral collaborations with private industry and the public sector. The research group develops and continuously updates a research roadmap to steer its activities and identify new fields to explore. One of the key added values of the DAI research group is its mission to boost the overall capabilities of i2CAT in the area of AI, fostering synergies with the organization’s other 8 research groups.

In a nutshell, the activity of i2CAT is focused on the following research areas:

  • 5G/6G mobile telecommunication networks
  • Non-terrestrial communications (satellite communications)
  • Internet of Things
  • Cybersecurity
  • Immersive Technologies
  • Techno-Social Research and Innovation

All these areas of research are progressively incorporating the use of AI into their design and application.   • Define the strategy in the area of AI for the entire organization, ensuring smooth coordination across teams in different research groups.
  • Become a reference person in the area of AI for i2CAT, participating in meetings with key stakeholders and public events.
  • Develop the professional career of the DAI research group team members.
  • Define/Update/maintain a research & innovation roadmap of the area with the validation of the Director of Research and Development, Director of Innovation, and Director of Business Development of i2CAT.
  • Foster the cross-collaboration with other research and innovation groups of i2CAT to tackle multi-technological problems and challenges.
  • Manage the resource planning for R&D and innovation in the different research lines of the research group.

  • Identify and plan the strategy for the participation of DAI research group members in relevant scientific Working Groups to ensure continuous scientific/technological watch to stay up-to-date on cutting edge research problems/topics.

The research group “Epidemiology of Mental Health Disorders and Ageing” led by Dr. Josep Maria Haro seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work in the Epidemiology of Youth Mental Health research line, together with Dr. Rodrigo Antunes Lima.

We offer a 12-month contract, with the possibility of renovation. The main attribution of this postdoctoral position is to support the conduction of two EU-funded projects: the e-Intervention Enhancing Mental Health in Adolescents (IMPROVA project; https://www.improva-project.eu/), and the ePlatform for Promoting Health in Schools project (ePro-Schools https://www.linkedin.com/company/epro-schools/?viewAsMember=true ).

IMPROVA will co-design, pilot, evaluate, and facilitate the upscaling of a modular eHealth intervention platform that aims to improve mental health and wellbeing, early detect mental health problems and prevent common mental problems in adolescents. IMPROVA will be implemented in school settings and will include components for adolescents, parents, teachers, and other school staff in complementary and synergistic modules based on materials designed and tested in >20 projects carried out by the consortium members. The platform will be co-created by the consortium in collaboration with stakeholder groups (adolescents, parents, teachers, other school staff, schools and policymakers). IMPROVA includes an international inter-disciplinary group of researchers and practitioners from medicine, education, psychology, sociology, public health, economics, physical activity, ethics, law, UX design, computer science, medical informatics, data science, ICT technologies, and policymakers. After pilot testing the platform, IMPROVA will be implemented via a cluster randomised controlled trial in secondary education schools randomly selected in France, Germany, Romania and Spain, including 8,000 adolescents. A 360º evaluation of IMPROVA will include Effectiveness, Implementation, Economic, and Social Return on Investment analysis. Using implementation science methodology, IMPROVA will co-design transferable evidence-based guidance for scaling up the platform with users and policymakers. IMPROVA aims to provide an evidence-based, innovative, large-scale, comprehensive intervention, and a scale-up plan to promote mental health and prevent mental disorders in adolescents; empower adolescents and families to make better decisions regarding their mental health; and provide schools and the community with tools to achieve a society with better mental health and lower stigma.

ePro-Schools will co-design, pilot and evaluate an evidence-based modular eHealth intervention platform to promote physical activity and healthy eating, and reduce time in sedentary behaviours.

A profound co-creation process, including marketing survey and focus groups with adolescents, teachers, school directors and policy makers together with the adaptation of previous interventions conducted by the consortium members will support the development of the platform. The ePro-Schools platform will contain modules for adolescents and their parents, teachers and school administration. Although the platform will be implemented through schools, it will include contents to be implemented outside the schools setting. By evaluating register-based and cohort data, we will identify schools that have adolescents from socially disadvantaged settings to conduct a randomised controlled trial in those schools to test the ePro-Schools platform. Using implementation science methodology, ePro-Schools will co-design transferable evidence-based practices and methodologies and guidance for scaling up the platform with policymakers and stakeholders as well as informing specialists, policymakers and the general public.

Factory Creation Project Management:

    The i2CAT Foundation (Barcelona) is opening a position to advance in the research and innovation field of high quality 3D reconstruction, both offline and in real-time.

    The candidate will join i2CAT’s Media Tech group, which is composed of over 20 experienced researchers and engineers in the fields of distributed and interactive multimedia systems and media processing, and is involved in relevant R&I projects with the European and national ecosystems, in close collaboration with key players from academia and industry.

    This area is seeking a Senior Research Engineer with experience in the application of Machine Learning techniques applied to 3D/Volumetric reconstruction. The ideal candidate should have experience with different ML architectures and frameworks used in the field of Computer Vision and 3D reconstruction. The candidate should also be highly knowledgeable in pinhole camera modeling and parameterization. . Additionally, having experience in GPU programming is a plus (e.g.: CUDA/OpenCL). The candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research, innovation and development tasks. In particular, the candidate in charge of building custom datasets, designing and testing new algorithms and solutions in the field of 3D reconstruction and integrating the developed solutions into our platform.

    The candidate should be highly self-driven while also capable of seamlessly collaborating hand-in-hand with different experts within i2CAT and highly relevant international partners from academia and industry under the umbrella of competitive national and international projects (Horizon Europe, European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking, SNS JU).

    The results from the planned research and development activities are expected to lead to high-impact scientific publications, technology/knowledge transfer (e.g., open-source software, patents, contributions to standards), resulting cutting-edge software and services, and career development opportunities.

    The candidate, along with the 3D reconstruction team within Media Tech, will be involved in the development of novel methods to enhance the quality of our 3D holoportation system using advanced computer vision approaches. The candidate will also be in charge of exploring other 3D reconstruction solutions for tasks such as 3D reconstruction of large scenarios (e.g.: a city monument and surroundings) and offline high definition and high fidelity human reconstruction.     Job Responsibilities

    AmRest is one of the largest independent international restaurant operators. Since 1993, we have been building a portfolio of well-known and powerful brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Starbucks, based on strong franchise and joint venture partnerships. In Spain we manage our own brands and franchises such as La Tagliatella and SushiShop.

    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating wide rage of global commercial agreements.
    • Managing, structuring, negotiating and closing variety of transactions carried by companies from AmRest group.
    • Support business owners with timely appropriate and practical advice in legal area; cooperate with external lawyers.
    • Supervising contract execution to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and that statutory provisions are appropriately and consistently reflected in contracts.
    • Providing legal advice and support,ensuring compliance with AmRest corporate legal procedures and policies.

    Requirements for Candidate

    • Law Degree.
    • Experience in working with laws of different countries
    • Exceptional level of English.
    • Multiple stakeholder management
    • High negotiation skills.
    • Used to work with senior management/board members.
    • Valuable experience in international companies.
    • Proactive, flexible and eager to learn.

    FullStack Engineer - Marketplace (m/f/d)

    Your Tasks

    • Lead the architecture and implementation of our marketplace platform.
    • Develop interfaces between our backend APIs and consumer touchpoints.
    • Create backend services following the "API First" principle.
    • Collaborate with other teams to define requirements and solutions.
    • Provide consulting and coaching to help colleagues overcome technical challenges and contribute to team growth.
    • Automate manual tasks, saving valuable time for business colleagues.
    • Foster an open, honest, and constructive discussion culture within the team.
    • Embrace DevOps, taking responsibility for your team's services from request to operation in a cloud infrastructure.

    Your Profile

    • Strong team player who enjoys freedom and responsibility.
    • Proficient in React and TypeScript for developing SPAs.
    • Committed to application quality, utilizing TypeScript and writing clever tests.
    • Experienced in developing backend systems with NodeJS.
    • Knowledgeable in working with NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and scaling them for large requests.
    • Familiar with the entire application lifecycle, continuous delivery, and cloud infrastructure, with a passion for the DevOps approach.
    • Experienced in cloud environments with Kubernetes, monitoring applications with Grafana and Prometheus.
    • Skilled in API design and messaging, e.g., via Google Pub/Sub.
