Estem interessats a incorporar un/a Data Entry en el marc del projecte “UNICAS. Implementation of a Pediatric Network for Personalised Medicine in rare pediatric diseases. A Pilot Project”.

L'objectiu últim de la medicina pediàtrica de precisió és estratificar els nens afectats per malalties per millorar el diagnòstic i els tractaments mèdics.
Els investigadors translacionals estan aportant quantitats cada vegada més grans de dades clíniques heterogenies i informació científica per crear estratègies de classificació que permetin adequar la intervenció als mecanismes subjacents de la malaltia en subgrups de pacients.
La majoria de les malalties genètiques pediàtriques, com els trastorns del neurodesenvolupament, les malalties metabòliques hereditàries, els trastorns neuromusculars, les epilèpsies i altres afeccions monogèniques ultrarares, són causes importants de mort i discapacitat infantil a Espanya i a tot el món.

Els objectius principals d'aquest projecte són:
1- Establiment d'una Xarxa de Recerca Pediàtrica en Malalties Rares per a la Medicina de Precisió a Espanya;
2- Aplicació d'estàndards d'Història Clínica Electrònica mitjançant la introducció d'un "conjunt mínim de dades clíniques" en quatre grups de malalties per obtenir un conjunt d'estàndards comuns de dades clíniques que es pretenen incloure a les RER, CSUR i CIBER;
3- Implementació d'eines comunes entre unitats pediàtriques i desplegament de "Casos d'Ús" per a IMPaCT-Data i IMPaCT-Genomics.
4- Aplicació d'eines automatitzades per analitzar i compartir la informació genòmica de nens amb malalties rares i la interacció amb IMPaCT-Genomics.
El projecte desplegarà una plataforma federada de dades seguint les directrius, la documentació i els demostradors desenvolupats per IMPaCT-Data.
Aquest projecte pilot pretén donar el tret de sortida de la Xarxa, estructurar les seves bases mínimes aprofitant les dades fenotípiques i genòmiques existents en 300 pacients i realitzar estudis genòmics i anàlisis fenotípics estructurats com a estudi pilot en altres 200 pacients amb quatre grups de patologies.

Funcions principals

1. Introducció i validació de dades clíniques i genètiques en sistemes de gestió interns (HCIS) i bases de dades especialitzades.
2. Verificació i actualització de dades demogràfiques i clíniques dels pacients.
3. Participació en l’estandardització i codificació de dades clíniques i genètiques d’acord amb models i ontologies internacionals (OMOP, OMIM, SNOMED CT o similars).
4. Col·laboració com a nexe entre el Departament de Genètica i el Departament d’Estratègia Digital i Dades, assegurant el correcte seguiment i execució del projecte.
5. Generació d’anàlisis, informes i estadístiques per a ús intern.
6. Assistència a reunions de seguiment del projecte i suport en la preparació de documentació associada.

Share4Rare is an online platform that brings together a patient community and various research projects focused on rare diseases. These projects are based on the donation of medical and quality-of-life information by adult patients and caregivers of children living with a rare disease. Share4Rare offers services to researchers interested in conducting collaborative research initiatives with patients and families at both national and international levels, enabling research into a group of diseases characterized by low prevalence.

The communication activities of the Area include: management of social media, creation of blog posts and news content, design of outreach materials, reporting on research project results, and the scientific management and editing of the podcast "La Ciencia de lo Singular”, among other actions.

We are looking for a self-driven and committed Scientific Project Manager to join the Fundacion/ Hospital Sant Joan de Déu to provide daily scientific, technical and managerial support to the transnational project: Transforming health Care System SPINE-SYNC: Multi-stakeholder platform for scoliosis education, communication, professional collaboration and health literacy.

SPINE-SYNC is a digital platform for paediatric scoliosis patients designed to enhance communication, health literacy, preventive strategies, and a supportive culture that emphasises patient-centred care (PCC). This platform will also facilitate the coordination between care levels and the continuity of care, improving the care provided and boosting healthcare professionals' expertise in e-health technologies and communication. In addition, the SPINE-SYNC platform will be adaptable to different health systems and include existing and new person-centred eHealth tools. The main objective of SPINE-SYNC is to improve the quality of life of paediatric scoliosis patients by developing and piloting a digital platform that aims to transform the relationship between patients, families and healthcare professionals from different levels of care.

The Paediatric Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department at Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children's Hospital is a leading reference gorup specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic, congenital, and acquired musculoskeletal disorders. With a highly specialized and multidisciplinary team, the department integrates cutting-edge technology and innovative techniques to provide the best possible care. The person we are looking for must be proactive, responsible, flexible, empathic and service-oriented. He/she should be comfortable working on long-term strategic plans as well as day-to-day project management tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • General coordination of SPINE-SYNC project,
  • Interface between the project coordinator and internal team/partners or external stakeholders, translate coordinator’s decision making toward actions,
  • Coordination of day to day internal scientific/technical work according to work plan,
  • Coordination of Work package where SJD is leader, organization of meetings, collect state of the art of clinical practice and elaborate required documents.
  • Writing guidelines, activity reports and deliverables where SJD is responsible
  • Preparation of agendas and presentations for project meetings and related committees (advisory board, external experts…) participation in meeting, draft minutes, chair meetings,
  • Providing guidance to project partners (mitigation plan, ethical issues, work plan…),

Precisamos incorporar un perfil de Project Manager en la Unidad de Investigación Clínica de la Fundació Sant Joan de Déu, ubicada en el Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, para gestionar los estudios y ensayos clínicos de la unidad.

Funciones principales:

  • Liderar la gestión de los proyectos asignados.
  • Dar soporte a los miembros del equipo investigador en toda la parte de gestión del proyecto.
  • Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con el equipo del proyecto (investigadores, CRAs, etc) para garantizar que todas las tareas del estudio se realizan de acuerdo con los tiempos y los objetivos acordados.
  • Elaborar los planes del estudio (plan de monitorización, DMP, etc.), revisar los informes de monitorización y de todo el contenido de la información que se comunique a las autoridades regulatorias durante el desarrollo del estudio.
  • Coordinar los distintos centros participantes en el proyecto, ejerciendo de persona de contacto, y supervisando la base de datos para garantizar el cumplimiento de los plazos de cada uno de los centros.
  • Asistir en todo el proceso regulatorio tanto con el seguimiento de la presentación a las autoridades regulatorias aplicables como dar el soporte a las aclaraciones que pudieran haber.
  • Colaborar en las tareas transversales de la Unidad, así como en los objetivos anuales de la misma.
  • Subcontratación de vendors y su seguimiento.
  • Trabajar bajo el plan de calidad de la Unidad de Investigación Clínica.

Otras funciones:

  • Formación en aspectos relacionados con Ensayos Clínicos a investigadores, coordinadores y CRAs
  • Participación en el fomento de contactos con otros departamentos y creación de circuitos de colaboración con el hospital para llevar a cabo el proyecto.

¿Qué funciones realizarás?

  • Soporte funcional del ERP: Atender las consultas diarias de los usuarios internos sobre Kmaleon, resolviendo incidencias básicas de uso, problemas con expedientes, informes, etc. Dar soporte de primer nivel asegurándose de que el ERP se utilice correctamente y escalando incidencias técnicas complejas al soporte especializado si fuese necesario.
  • Administración básica y configuración: Colaborar en la configuración del ERP según las necesidades que surjan (por ejemplo, alta de nuevos usuarios, ajustes sencillos en parámetros o módulos de Kmaleon, configuración de expedientes genéricos para nuevos servicios, etc.), bajo la supervisión del responsable de la herramienta. Ayudar a mantener la estructura de datos y permisos del ERP ordenada conforme se integran nuevas gestorías o áreas de negocio.
  • Preparación e integración de datos: Cuando la empresa adquiera o fusione nuevas gestorías, encargarse de la recolección, limpieza y carga de datos necesarios para integrarlas en Kmaleon. Esto implica extraer datos de sistemas origen (a menudo en Excel u otros formatos), adaptar esos datos al formato de importación de Kmaleon (estructurando columnas, aplicando transformaciones, validando que la información esté completa y correcta) y ejecutar o asistir en la migración al ERP. Verificar posteriormente que los datos migrados cuadren (control de calidad post-integración).
  • Automatización de tareas operativas: Identificar tareas administrativas o de reporte que actualmente se realicen manualmente de forma repetitiva (por ejemplo, generación de ciertos listados, consolidación de información de clientes, envío de comunicaciones estándar…) y desarrollar soluciones para automatizarlas.
  • Colaboración en proyectos de mejora: Apoyar al líder del departamento en iniciativas de innovación. Por ejemplo, participar en pruebas de nuevas funcionalidades de Kmaleon o actualizaciones del software antes de su implantación general (testing UAT), aportar ideas para mejorar flujos de trabajo en la gestoría, y coordinar con IT u otros departamentos la implementación de pequeños cambios que incrementen la eficiencia.
  • Documentación y formación interna: Elaborar y mantener actualizada la documentación interna relacionada con el ERP y procesos vinculados. Pre-Doctoral Research Position (PhD): Flow Dynamics Research to Optimize Extracorporeal Circuits.

BCNatal | Fetal Medicine Research Center is carrying out an ambitious project in the field of fetal surgery and therapy for the development of an artificial placenta, which involves animal experimentation. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as a pre-doctoral student (PhD) in a multidisciplinary applied research project. This research position is in collaboration with the Department of Fluid Mechanics of the UPC Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

The position is primarily funded through STEP FI postdoctoral research grants, and the selection of the candidate is contingent upon the resolution of the STEP FI funding. However, candidates interested in other postdoctoral funding opportunities are also encouraged to apply and may submit a motivation letter indicating their interest in exploring alternative funding sources.

Context
BCNatal | Fetal Medicine Research Center, led by Prof. Eduard Gratacós, is a multidisciplinary research center focused on perinatal and fetal medicine, recognized as one of the leading teams in the world in this field. It is accredited by the Spanish government as a center of research excellence, working to find solutions for diseases of perinatal origin.

BCNatal-FMRC is the research division of the clinical area of BCNatal, which consists of the maternal-fetal and neonatal medicine departments of two university hospitals: Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. BCNatal provides a privileged environment for the development of applied clinical research with direct translation into medical practice.

Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated pre-doctoral researcher to join our team in the study of flow dynamics in extracorporeal circuit systems for extreme premature babies within a Liquid Incubator system. This project aims to optimize extracorporeal circulation by combining experimental measurements in a devoted circuit and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical simulations combined with AI-driven analytics. The expected research outcomes are a real-time monitoring system, a physics-based numerical model and the AI tools suitable to develop a reliable digital twin.

Key Responsibilities
- Validate and calibrate existing sensors (flow, pressure, temperature) and test and integrate new sensor types.
- Create a monitoring system capable of registering continuous data streams of the circuit.
- Conduct flow dynamics studies of the circuit with CFD to obtain a physics-based model providing a good agreement with the experimental measurements.
- Perform a series of experiments and CFD simulations to understand patient adaptation to different conditions through time.
- Develop suitable signal processing and AI analytic tools to detect anomalies, predict behaviours and support decisions.
- Integrate all the previous results to develop a digital twin to optimize extracorporeal circuit design and clinical protocols.

The Functional Printing & Embedded Devices Unit develops innovative solutions based on functional materials and devices.

This Unit has the knowledge and experience to contribute from research concepts to prototyping and manufacturing. The Unit can cover the entire TRL chain, from the conceptualization of the idea to prototype validation, including design, proof of concept, material analysis, processes, prototyping, and characterization.

The specialization areas of the Unit include the formulation of functional inks, printing and coating processes for lightweight and flexible devices, their characterization, and in terms of electronics, the design, development, and manufacturing of conventional PCB electronics and hybrid electronics.

The team is looking for a researcher to support the development of printed sensors for health and environmental monitoring applications

Some of the projects incluede:

Director of the Distributed Artificial Intelligence Research Group

The i2CAT Foundation is looking for a Director of the Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) Research Group who, in addition, will lead the overall strategy of the organization in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The DAI research group conducts research and innovation activities in the areas of explainable and distributed AI, multimodal AI perception, and cognitive cloud. The group has a long track record of participation in EU R&D projects, Catalan and Spanish-funded research and innovation projects, and bilateral collaborations with private industry and the public sector. The research group develops and continuously updates a research roadmap to steer its activities and identify new fields to explore. One of the key added values of the DAI research group is its mission to boost the overall capabilities of i2CAT in the area of AI, fostering synergies with the organization’s other 8 research groups.

In a nutshell, the activity of i2CAT is focused on the following research areas:

  • 5G/6G mobile telecommunication networks
  • Non-terrestrial communications (satellite communications)
  • Internet of Things
  • Cybersecurity
  • Immersive Technologies

All these areas of research are progressively incorporating the use of AI into their design and application. The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Lead the Distributed Artificial Intelligence Research Group of i2CAT, consisting of 22 researchers/engineers working in 3 research lines.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the overall strategic objectives of i2CAT, which aim at scientific and technological excellence, as well as the generation of impact on technology, economy and society.
  • Define the strategy in the area of AI for the entire organization, ensuring smooth coordination across teams in different research groups.
  • Become a reference person in the area of AI for i2CAT, participating in meetings with key stakeholders and public events.
  • Develop the professional career of the DAI research group team members.
  • Define/Update/maintain a research & innovation roadmap of the area with the validation of the Director of Research and Development, Director of Innovation, and Director of Business Development of i2CAT.
  • Foster the cross-collaboration with other research and innovation groups of i2CAT to tackle multi-technological problems and challenges.
  • Manage the resource planning for R&D and innovation in the different research lines of the research group.
  • Secure funding for the DAI research group: foster research & innovation ideas within the team and identify relevant public funding programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe) for proposal development/submission.
  • Build and maintain a network of key people and organisations with whom establishing long-lasting and impact-oriented collaborations in coordination with the business development areas of i2CAT.
  • Coordinate the definition of technological assets with the Director of Technology and Director of Innovation aiming at impact generation through the licensing of IPR or the generation of spin-offs.
  • Identify and plan the strategy for the participation of DAI research group members in relevant scientific Working Groups to ensure continuous scientific/technological watch to stay up-to-date on cutting edge research problems/topics.
  • Contribute to the communication activities of i2CAT, by providing guidance on the contents and audience targets for the different activities and outcomes of the activity of the area.

This area is seeking a highly motivated and talented Graphics Engineer with Expertise in Unity to join our development team. The ideal candidate should not only have a strong background in C++, CUDA and Unity. Additionally, having experience in Android development and working on the maintenance of a Unity SDK would be a significant plus. The candidate will be in charge of maintaining and improving the Holoconference Unity SDK called HoloMIT, implementing new features, integrating in-house new Holographic pipelines and optimizations.

The Internet of Things Research Area at the i2CAT Foundation is looking for an IoT Engineer to work on innovation projects.

The selected candidate will join the IoT group to work in the implementation and development of IoT solutions and prototypes and their evaluation in real environments. The job will offer the possibility to investigate and work in emergent IoT technologies and solutions from a very applied perspective. Concretely, the candidate will collaborate with the group in current projects working in some of the following fields:

  • Enhancement of communication and energy consumption capabilities for IoT solutions.
  • Implementation of enhanced sensing solutions for Smart Cities
  • Design and implementation of precise tracking and positioning solutions based on IoT technologies such as sensor fusion, RF or Visible Light Communications.
  • Development of the future IoT smart environments and sensing solutions capable to exploit intelligence in constrained IoT devices, adapt to the needs of the scenario and improve the overall interaction with the end user.

The main tasks performed by the candidate will be:

The research group “Epidemiology of Mental Health Disorders and Ageing” led by Dr. Josep Maria Haro seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work in the Epidemiology of Youth Mental Health research line, together with Dr. Rodrigo Antunes Lima.

We offer a 12-month contract, with the possibility of renovation. The main attribution of this postdoctoral position is to support the conduction of two EU-funded projects: the e-Intervention Enhancing Mental Health in Adolescents (IMPROVA project; https://www.improva-project.eu/), and the ePlatform for Promoting Health in Schools project (ePro-Schools https://www.linkedin.com/company/epro-schools/?viewAsMember=true ).

IMPROVA will co-design, pilot, evaluate, and facilitate the upscaling of a modular eHealth intervention platform that aims to improve mental health and wellbeing, early detect mental health problems and prevent common mental problems in adolescents. IMPROVA will be implemented in school settings and will include components for adolescents, parents, teachers, and other school staff in complementary and synergistic modules based on materials designed and tested in >20 projects carried out by the consortium members. The platform will be co-created by the consortium in collaboration with stakeholder groups (adolescents, parents, teachers, other school staff, schools and policymakers). IMPROVA includes an international inter-disciplinary group of researchers and practitioners from medicine, education, psychology, sociology, public health, economics, physical activity, ethics, law, UX design, computer science, medical informatics, data science, ICT technologies, and policymakers. After pilot testing the platform, IMPROVA will be implemented via a cluster randomised controlled trial in secondary education schools randomly selected in France, Germany, Romania and Spain, including 8,000 adolescents. A 360º evaluation of IMPROVA will include Effectiveness, Implementation, Economic, and Social Return on Investment analysis. Using implementation science methodology, IMPROVA will co-design transferable evidence-based guidance for scaling up the platform with users and policymakers. IMPROVA aims to provide an evidence-based, innovative, large-scale, comprehensive intervention, and a scale-up plan to promote mental health and prevent mental disorders in adolescents; empower adolescents and families to make better decisions regarding their mental health; and provide schools and the community with tools to achieve a society with better mental health and lower stigma.

ePro-Schools will co-design, pilot and evaluate an evidence-based modular eHealth intervention platform to promote physical activity and healthy eating, and reduce time in sedentary behaviours.

A profound co-creation process, including marketing survey and focus groups with adolescents, teachers, school directors and policy makers together with the adaptation of previous interventions conducted by the consortium members will support the development of the platform. The ePro-Schools platform will contain modules for adolescents and their parents, teachers and school administration. Although the platform will be implemented through schools, it will include contents to be implemented outside the schools setting. By evaluating register-based and cohort data, we will identify schools that have adolescents from socially disadvantaged settings to conduct a randomised controlled trial in those schools to test the ePro-Schools platform. Using implementation science methodology, ePro-Schools will co-design transferable evidence-based practices and methodologies and guidance for scaling up the platform with policymakers and stakeholders as well as informing specialists, policymakers and the general public.

Utilizamos herramientas avanzadas de modelización y experimentación a diferentes escalas (laboratorio, planta piloto y escalera real) para desarrollar y validar nuevas tecnologías y aplicaciones de éstas. Trabajamos con un amplio abanico de tecnologías de tratamiento de contaminantes para limitar su liberación al medio natural, así como para la recuperación de recursos y apoyar la transición hacia una economía circular.

Diseñamos proyectos y procedimientos experimentales a medida de las empresas, limitando el riesgo intrínseco de I+D+i mediante la implementación progresiva desde la conceptualización hasta la implementación, pasando por todas las etapas del desarrollo.
